Training Development Engineer

Job Summary

The Training Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging technical training solutions for dealer technicians and service personnel. The role focuses on creating Web-Based Training (WBT), Instructor-Led Training (ILT), interactive digital learning content, multimedia assets, simulations, and technical training programs that improve technician competency, first-time fix rates, and vehicle uptime across the product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive Web-Based Training (WBT) modules using Articulate Storyline 360 and other eLearning authoring tools.
• Create storyboards and develop engaging digital learning content for technical training programs.
• Design graphics, animations, videos, and multimedia assets to enhance learner engagement.
• Develop 3D models and simulations to create immersive learning experiences.
• Ensure learning content complies with SCORM and xAPI standards for seamless LMS integration.
• Develop and deliver Instructor-Led Training (ILT) materials including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentations, assessments, and lab activities.
• Create technical training content covering vehicle systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, product support, service teams, and Subject Matter
• Experts (SMEs) to convert technical information into effective learning solutions.
• Drive adoption of modern learning technologies including AI-enabled learning, AR/VR, virtual labs, simulations, and microlearning.
• Monitor training effectiveness using learner analytics, assessments, and business performance metrics.
• Develop reports and dashboards using Power BI to track training utilization, learner engagement, competency development, and project performance.
• Continuously improve training development processes through automation, standardization, and content reuse strategies.
• Support global training programs by ensuring localization, accessibility, and deployment readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in Technical Training Development, Instructional Design, or Learning Content Development.
• Hands-on experience with Articulate Storyline 360 (Mandatory).
• Experience developing Web-Based Training (WBT) using Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar authoring tools.
• Strong experience designing and delivering Instructor-Led Training (ILT) programs.
• Knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, maintenance procedures, and aftermarket technical training processes.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), SCORM, xAPI, and digital learning ecosystems.
• Experience creating multimedia content including videos, animations, simulations, and interactive learning modules.
• Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
• Experience with animation and video tools such as Vyond, Camtasia, or Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools such as Blender, Autodesk Maya, or 3ds Max.
• Experience using Power BI for reporting and learning analytics.
• Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and instructional design skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Instructional Design, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with automation workflows in learning content development.
• Exposure to AI-enabled learning solutions, AR/VR applications, and virtual learning environments.
• Experience supporting global training initiatives and content localization.
